Sally McLean as "Madeleine"

Since commencing professional acting work as a teenager, Sally has tended the sick in Flying Doctors, modelled on Bingles, sung and thrown up for The D-Generation, solicited for customers on Totally Full Frontal, been Kylie's schoolyard mate and Guy Pearce's model student in Neighbours, been very annoyed with Nick Giannopoulous on Acropolis Now!, had a knight in shining armour, a priest and water dumped over her in the name of the A-Z Home Guide series of commercials, sold cars for Nissan, sold beds for Sleepy Sam's, pretended she knew about engines for Repco Autos, demonstrated and was arrested on Blue Heelers and eventually got into bed with Steve Vizard on Tonight Live - after which, she left the country.

She then studied at The Actor's Institute, London, completing her Degree in Dramatic Art, and beginning her MA in Drama & Education, before going on to play roles in UK theatre, television and film, including the lead role in the world premier of the musical Annabel's Requiem and 'Queen Gertrude' in Hamlet as well as leads in the films A Little Rain Must Fall and Just Move Your Lips. Sally also had the distinction of being the voice for the relaunch of UKGold TV - complete with English accent.

She also appeared in The Bookworm, Poetry Nation and The 80's, amongst other roles for BBC television. A highlight was playing a decidedly male King Duncan in the all-female Macbeth, described as "… an utterly convincing performance as the old Scottish King, belying the fact that McLean is not only young and a woman, but also Australian." - Time Out London.

Upon her return to Australia, she interviewed cops on Blue Heelers, sang and danced her way across the stage with Julia Morris and Matt Hetherington in the Australian premier of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, and went onto appear in a variety of theatre and film roles, playing everything from a neurotic wife who spends her days living under her house in The Auxiliary to an early sufferer of MS in The Clairvoyant.

Highlights include playing the "Armani-wearing ice-princess" 'Angie Powers' opposite Tim Robertson in the BBC mini-series Bootleg, doubling for Gina Riley as 'Kim' in Kath & Kim (Network Seven), playing every girl's worst nightmare of a ballet teacher in Jonathan M Shiff's Elephant Princess (Network Ten), as well as romping around the Royal Botanical Gardens as part of the Australian Shakespeare Company's production of Romeo & Juliet, amongst many other and varied roles.

Sally's most recent role was the urbane and polished "Heather" in Adam Zwar's new comedy series Lowdown, due to air on ABC TV in 2010.
