Paul has what can only be described as a frighteningly encyclopeidic knowledge and deep passion for movies and the movie industry in general. He began in music video in 2005, co-directing and co-writing the video for Platinum Scissors by the band Life Imitating, which went onto screen on Channel V and Rage (ABC TV). He then went into producing, working for two years as Segment Producer on the hugely successful Channel 31 movie review, interview and news program The Bazura Project, which screened nationally and in 2008 was the winner of three Antenna Awards - "Best Comedy Program", "Best Arts Program" and "Best Director". Guests on the show included Richard Wolstencroft, George Miller (producer), Melanie Coombs, Sarah Watt, Chris Noonan, Everett De Roche, James Hewison, Danny Boyle, Geoffrey Wright, Pixar's Jerome Ranft & Paul Topolos, Scott Hicks, Rolf de Heer, Gillian Armstrong, Brian Trenchard-Smith, Steven Berkoff ... to name but a few. Paul also produced the short film Smoke and Mirrors for 7th Floor Productions before returning to writing/directing in 2008 with his own short film Interchange, a story that explored the lives of several different Melbournians and their love of the game of Aussie Rules Football. Since shooting Why Must The Show Go On? (his first
film as director/editor), Paul has accepted a first round offer
